Guns N’ Roses Over the Years
Guns N’ Roses’ debut album, Appetite for Destruction managed to reach No. 1 on Billboard 200 in 1987. This feat was possible due to their hit single, Sweet Child o’ Mine, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 at that time.
That particular album has sold more than 28 million copies across the world, which includes 18 million in the US alone. These statistics made their debut album the best-selling debut album of all time in the US.
Following their massive debut success, the band released G N’ R Lies in 1988. This was an eight-song album that successfully managed to grab the No.2 spot on the Billboard 200.
1991 saw the release of not one, but two albums. Dubbed the twin albums-Use Your Illusion I and II also managed to retain their position on the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and No. 1 respectively when they debuted. Their combined sales reached 35 million copies all over the world and 14 million in the US.
The Spaghetti Incident?, the cover album that was released in 1993 was Guns N’ Roses’ last album that featured McKagan and Slash.
Several line-up changes and more than a decade later, their much-awaited album, Chinese Democracy was released in 2008. It turned out to be the priciest albums to ever be produced in the history of music at an estimated $14 million in terms of production.
Debuting at No.3 on the Billboard 200, in spite of a positive reception, it undersold the industry’s expectations.

An Inspiration for a Slot Game
A popular band in the 1980s and 1990s, Guns N’ Roses was being played at all pubs and parties. They enjoyed immense success in their initial years and still remain popular after almost 30 years. So much so, that one of the renowned gaming software developers, Net Entertainment has announced that they would create a slot game based on them.
In collaboration with Universal Pictures and Geffen Records, Net Entertainment plans to release the slot game in the last quarter of 2015.
Net Entertainment is known for quality graphics, great animations and an amazing soundtrack to keep the players engaged all through the game. By basing a game on a rock band, you can expect nothing, but brilliant results with Guns N’ Roses slot too!
This will be one of their branded slot games among many others that they have already created like The Invisible Man, Scarface, South Park and Jack and the Beanstalk.
If you’ve played any of these branded slot games, you’ll know exactly what to expect. However, with a release date set towards the end of 2015, you can be assured of something unique and innovative from Guns N’ Roses slot.
Keeping the Repute…
When Guns N’ Roses debuted in the 1980s, they were highly credited for reviving the popularity of mainstream rock music. At that time, pop metal and dance music was the only kind of music that people heard and partied to. So, when Guns N’ Roses came on to the scene, they were aptly nicknamed, The World’s Most Dangerous Band.
Keeping their deadly reputation in mind, there will not be any surprises if Net Entertainment tries to replicate the band’s success and status in their version of slot game as well.
With Net Entertainment’s announcement at ICE Totally Gaming, earlier in the year, Guns N’ Roses fans really have something to look forward to. Their main target audience will obviously be people who enjoy listening to hard rock and playing branded slot games.
In the past, gaming companies have often been inspired by movies, books, comic characters, and even Broadway musicals, but never has any company turned to a rock band as a muse. This is possibly the first time a slot gaming developer has looked at the music industry for inspiration.
As people await the release of Guns N’ Roses slot, it remains to be seen what Net Entertainment can churn out in terms of a great game play. Until the slot is released, people can only assume what to expect as its special features like wild and scatter symbols, bonus rounds, payouts, RTP and an overall gaming experience!
